So this is the beginning. Where the end lies is unknown at the moment - it depends how useful I find this whole blog business and whether my loved ones; English, Australians, Egyptians and Americans alike actually enjoy this kind of jazz...
Anyhoo. I thought a testimony about my amazing God would be a fabulous place to start - He seriously rocks my world everyday! Take today for example (and this is also a great testimony to the power of putting pen to paper before God too). As I was spending time in His presence this morning, I felt prompted to write down in my journal all that I was in need of financially, which being a student doesn't take many thought processes to figure out - the needs always tend to make themselves known! I wrote down the various bill and rental amounts, food allowances and other miscellaneous costs, charged God to keep His promises and left it at that.
What do I find this afternoon after Street Teams but a friend of mine from California in her second term at college handing me a scrunched up 'Optus' flyer with $110 in it! Now this may not sound like much but when you only have $6.50 (about £2.60) to your name it really is a substantial amount and will carry me over until my next evening at work on the weekend (which incidentally is the humble job of 'pot-pig' at a classy local restaurant!).
Now I am no stranger to seeing God do incredible financial miracles in my life. From birth my Mum and Dad have had to trust God to provide enough money to raise my sister and I, pay the mortgage and keep themselves afloat. Personally I have seen the Lord pour out an abundance of provision to enable me to do a DTS with YWAM (including a 10 week missions trip to India), fulfill a life goal in building my own mountain bike a couple of years ago and pay off my first year of college fees before I even made it to Australia (though this is not the whole story, I'll have to tell you sometime...!). Not to mention the incredible way He has taken care of me since last January with rent payments, provision of food, clothes, phone credit, cups of tea (He has all bases covered!)... I am so blessed. But everytime it happens I am so blown away with the love of Christ.
There really isn't anything to compare with being a child of God. He is so Good to me!
